Over the years, it evolved into a fluid steel barreled, hammerless shotgun offered in many grades, from field grade to custom built, high grade sporting arms with elaborate engraving and select woods. The guns quickly earned their reputation both in the field and in competitive target shooting venues.
The firearm was originally crafted with Damascus steel “twist” style barrels and external hammers. Parker Guns were designed and built predominately as side by side, double-barrel shotguns. Similarly, a 20 case color Parker will probably have 90 barrel bluing remaining. Typically, a 60 case color Parker shotgun will have 90+ blue and varnish, yet this does not mean the gun is 90 overall. All of our repairs are made using original parts and finished to factory specifications set forth by Parker Brothers who pioneered many advances in the development of American sporting arms. A Parker IS NOT 60 if the barrel bluing and stock/forearm varnish are 60 but case colors are only 10. The barrel release is a lever in front of the trigger guard. The gun has a straight stock with beautiful checkering on the wrist and forend.
